2026 -2027 Open Enrollment

Welcome to the MUSD Open Enrollment Application; it is open from January 20th – February 27, 2026 . This application is a request to transfer students, in grades K-12, from the school of residence to an alternative school site within MUSD.  Only one school may be requested; multiple applications will not be permitted. Please note, transportation will not be provided.  

Approval of Open Enrollment is contingent on the following:  

• Space/Program - availability in the grade level or program requested.  
• 95% Attendance - including excused and unexcused absences, SARB and/or SART contracts.  
• Academics - 2.0 or better and on track to graduate (7th -12th), Proficiency in Standards (K-6th).  
• Behavior - no major behavior incidents, suspensions, expulsions, Discipline (DRB) or Fight Contracts.  
• Assessment - students currently under assessment for Special Education services, are not eligible for transfers.   

Due to heavy impaction, Sierra High And Nile Garden Elementary Schools are closed to new Open Enrollment requests for the 26/27 school year. ONLY students with a sibling or parent on campus for the 26/27 school year will be considered. All other requests will be automatically denied.
